Acquisition of parcels for the Suncoast Parkway 2 (SR 589 Tollway) is well under way. The Turnpike has acquired the vast majority of land needed to build the project and instituted eminent domain proceedings to take land that it could not acquire through negotiations. Gaylord Merlin Ludovici & Diaz represents numerous clients who owned property in the path of the Suncoast Parkway extension. Many of these clients are either in litigation or have settled their differences with the Turnpike over the amount of compensation they should be paid for their property. In anticipation of construction starting first quarter of 2017, the Turnpike is actively relocating people who live within the designated path of the Parkway. The Turnpike hopes to have all of the property cleared of any improvements by the end of 2016.
