Client update: Register Chevrolet

Hernando County, FL – Gaylord Merlin partner Lorena Ludovici successfully stopped local government abuse by thwarting Hernando County’s attempt to acquire .37 acres of land while trying to dodge a claim for business damages. The land was being used by Register Chevrolet for display and sales of recreational vehicles. The County repeatedly refused to include Register Chevrolet as a party to the eminent domain case, hoping to avoid the business damage claim. Ludovici filed a motion to dismiss the case for failure to follow proper procedure. Ludovici obtained a favorable ruling from the Court allowing Register Chevrolet to bring its business damage claim and protected Register from the County’s abusive tactics.

The story appeared in the Tampa Bay Times in September.
